1st Night

Well, the ducklings survived their first night in their outdoor pen! I knew they would, but there was still that nagging fear in the back of my mind. ha.

Of course, though, on their second day of being fully outside, it rains and pours.

Water III (28)

It’s still raining now, but when it stops, I’ll run out there and take some pictures of them. Hopefully they are enjoying getting wet for a change. :P

Outdoor pen time!

Yup. The stinky ducklings have been banned from the garage.

7-9-10 (1)

So, bye bye, pink cage! I may bring them in at night.. we’ll see how hard they are to catch. :P

I duckling-proofed the redneck duck cage this morning, and so far they haven’t escaped yet.. Maybe they won’t. I just hope Kandie won’t scare them to death.

Yesterday I saw Daffy hobbling around the neighbors’ yards. :) Yay! That means she is healing.. hopefully.

They’re getting bigger..

… the duckies that is. :)

I haven’t figured out a way to weigh them yet, they squirm too much. But hopefully I’ll get them weighed soon and then I will update yall on that. :)

Daffodil is still alive, as far as I know. I haven’t seen her lately, but I figure I would have heard from the neighbors if she had died.

I can’t wait to find out what breed of ducks Lucy and Roscoe are… :)

Daffodil

Quick update – Daffodil has been at my neighbors’ house all day. Supposedly doing okay. Maybe there is hope for her yet! :)

Oh dear…

Daffodil was attacked by a turtle yesterday. She had a nice chunk taken out of her backside, hindering the use of her left leg. I moved her under my tree and placed a bowl of water next to her. She seemed pretty content.

This morning all that’s left is the water bowl. She’s gone. Don’t know if that’s a good or a bad sign. Hopefully good…

On a lighter note, the kangaroos are doing good. Eating, drinking, and pooping a lot. They are getting used humans (yay!). :)

Kandie likes to just stare and sniff at the ducks. It’s funny. :P

Allie stopped by yesterday to say hello to her duck, Snuggles. They’re such a cute pair, ha. :)

I will update yall when (or if) I see Daffodil again.

Kangaroo ducks

Yes. Lucy and Roscoe have the legs of a kangaroo. :)

Incident #1:
The first night I had them, I put them in my room while we went to a friend’s house. I came back and Roscoe was outside of the cage staring at Lucy. I hurriedly closed my door and recaptured R. Needless to say, we put chicken wire over the top of their cage until we get the bigger cage out of the attic.

Incident #2:
The day after getting L&R, I was going to clean their cage, so I put them in the rainbow portable outdoor cage.. then Skittles and Snuggles (2 year old female pekins) hurried over to inspect the ducklings’ food. It scared poor R out of his mind and he immediately hopped out and starting running around the yard. I chased him and caught him again, but in the meantime L had hopped out. I caught both of them and placed them back in their normal cage. I’m gonna have to find another way to let them play in the yard. :P

Starting over fresh

So what happened to my other Duck-World website? It filled up. I didn’t believe it at first, but for some reason it is full to the brim with pictures and videos.. I suppose that’s a good thing. :) So here’s to starting this new one.
